Last week the Atlanta Journal-Constitution ran this piece on one of my heroes, N. T. Wright.

Wright’s brand of conservatism has earned him a rare form of criticism. Conservatives complain that he’s not conservative enough; liberals say he isn’t liberal enough.

His response: He’s trying to be something else.

“I’m trying to call the issues as I see them,” he says. “I’m trying to be a thinking Christian.”

Indeed.
