I find it deeply insightful fair and honest. It is obvious that this is a combination of extraordinary scholarship and revelation that speaks to the heart of these matters as well as to a developed reason, both of which are glaringly absent in the public forum these days. I can well understand suspicion and mistrust of these ideas in this climate where skepticism is the mother's milk of the relativism and moral ambiguity we are raised on. However, it would be a grave mistake to dismiss Professor Markos' conclusions based on our own sneaking suspicions. There is no doubt that in this climate of empirically based analysis of utterly human and divine things, (post modern dehumanization) many pieces of irrelevant information can be used to contradict these conclusions, but it is nothing but a pea shooter to an elephant where the hunter is near sighted almost to blindness. Humility is the antidote to this myopia.

I am always cautious of theories that wrap things up a little too neatly. This all sounds a little too tidy for my tastes - too pretty for the storminess of even the church's relationship with God and the world.
