David Heddle, a Christian (conservative, Calvinist, I think Baptist) physics professor reviews Expelled, the Intelligent-design movie starring Ben Stein. giving the movie “two of four Calvins,” Professor Heddle remarks:
I enjoyed Ben Stein’s performance. I didn’t like either the message of Expelled or the likely consequence, which is increased distrust of science on the part of mainstream Christians. There was no effort to explain that Dawkins and company are not typical scientists, but a radical attention-seeking minority. There is no way for a layman to avoid reaching the conclusion that they are mainstream‚Äîand this false conclusion, encouraged by the makers of Expelled, is harmful to the faith.
I’ll be curious to know what Peter Bryant thinks, if he ever gets around to seeing it.
