Susan Pigott, the OT Prophetess, has begun a series about strange and ridiculous interpretations of the Bible she has encountered over the years. Check out the first installment, where we learn about Jesus in the very first verse of the Bible (and it’s not even remotely what you think!)
And here’s my contribution to the cause: I didn’t hear this, but one of my NT professors did. Someone was preaching from the KJV (naturally) on the death of Stephen and explained with a straight face that when the text records that “they gnashed on him with their teeth” (Acts 7:54) what it means is that the angry crowd chewed him to death!
Grab a bowl of popcorn. I think this is going to be a fun series.

Of course you know that baseball is taught in the very first verse of Genesis as well. “In the Big Inning!” I understand that translators have frequently combined these last two words, but hey, what do they know. Grab a hotdog while you’re getting the popcorn.
