Too many assume that the New Testament was handed to the church from God on a mountain. The New Testament was decided on by regular people no different from us applying reason to the question of which books presented the true message of Jesus. No part of the New Testament can be used to argue for its own inclusion any more than a persons statement that they never lie can be taken as proof that they have never lied.
