Christian Reconciliation Carnival 2: Call for Submissions

The second-ever Christian Reconciliation Carnival will be held here at Dr. Platypus on (or shortly after) March 1. If you would like to nominate a blog post (your own or someone else’s) on any aspect of living out the unity for which Jesus prayed, please email your submission to christianreconciliationcarnival@yahoo.com by midnight, February 28. Please include the following information:

  1. Your name or pseudonym.
  2. Link and title of post.
  3. Category of post, if applicable: general interest, question and answer, reconciliation, topic of the month (see below), or discussions and debates.
  4. Church affiliation of the person making the post(s) (for any category except general interest).

February’s special topic is the Church and Racial Reconciliation. Bloggers who belong to racial or ethnic minority groups (relative to your locale) are especially encouraged to offer a submission.

If you’re interested, you can read over the complete guidelines for participation. The short version is, we want thoughtful, respectful posts that look for common ground among Christians of various stripes. If you are an orthodox Christian (by the most generous definition of the term) who wishes the body of Christ looked more like a united family and less like a hodgepodge of balkanized factions sniping at each other, let us hear from you!

Also, we are looking for hosts for future Carnivals. If you’d be willing to give it a try, please let us know via the same email address listed above.

  1. […] The second Christian Reconciliation Carnival is slated for March 1 at Dr. Platypus. If you know of a great blog post on any topic of Christian reconciliation, nominations are open until February 28. […]

  2. […] Weekend Fisher at Heart, Mind, Soul, and Strength last month inaugurated a Carnival of Christian Reconciliation. This month’s carnival is to be hosted at Dr Platypus and here is the announcement for this months carnival topic, which is on “Church and Racial Reconciliation”. So, if you read this before the 28th then you have a topic! For myself, in the daily blogging exercise, locating a topic is usually the hard part. Writing on a subject is easier, once a subject is before oneself. So, with that in mind, get your essay submitted post-haste. The meat of the post, you’ll find below the fold. […]
