On the way home from the grocery store, Connie was talking to Rebecca about her upcoming audition for the Mercer Children’s Choir.
Rebecca: Miss Janice’s choir (at church) isn’t fun. We only get to have fun when we behave.
Connie: Maybe you should behave better.
Rebecca: I behave the best I can behave as much as I can.
Or, in the words of the Didachist, “For if you can bear the whole yoke of the Lord, you will be perfect; but if you are not able, do what you can” (Did 6:2).
Good pastoral theology there, I think.
