Thanks to Rick Mansfield for pointing me to this PDF of A. T. Robertson’s inaugural address as the president of the Seminary formerly known as Southern.
On the third floor of the SBTS library, the metal gating separating the rare books room from the doctoral student offices is graced by photos from the seminary’s early days. Just outside my office on the backside of the library (not that far from Moses’ backside of the desert) was a photo of the SBTS 1912 graduating class and faculty. Dr. Bob (as he was affectionately known) is clearly irritated to have to leave his studies to come pose for the picture.
He was a great scholar and a great man of faith. I commend his words to budding scholars everywhere.
