With the new computer (not so new anymore, but still…) I had to switch over from Legacy software to Reunion for my genealogy research. Legacy is a very good tool, but alas, they have not seen fit to produce a version for the Mac. I’m learning my way around Reunion and am generally pleased. It doesn’t handle BC dates very well, which would only be a concern for somebody like me who tries to make heads or tails of all the genealogical data in the Bible, but conversely it seems to have some pretty powerful tools for creating charts and tables. Here is one I just whipped up for the Davidic royal family.
You’ll note that I include traditional as well as biblical data—and I’m still trying to track down actual documentation for some of these genealogical claims. I leave it to the users to determine how much of this information is even remotely credible; personally I’m at least as interested in how these data have been appropriated by much later generations.
