A quotation to ponder from theologian Clark Pinnock, who died in August of this year:
Not only am I often not listened to, I am also made to feel stranded theologically: being too much of a free thinker to be accepted by the evangelical establishment and too much of a conservative to be accepted by the liberal mainline.
There are many of us who could sign our names to that statement.

Fortunately, the older I get the more I don’t really give a rip what the “evangelical establishment” or the “liberal mainline” think of me.

Darrell,
I think it takes lots of maturity and security in oneself to not give a rip, but my experience has been that, the more I grow in that direction, the more at peace I am. So far it’s been worth it!

I could have said that. I feel like that all the time. I’m at peace with myself over it, but it sure gets lonely living in a polarized world.
