The ancient Greeks had a saying: “Carpe diem,” which means “Capture the day” or “seize the moment.”

If the Greeks had such a saying, I’d be willing to believe they’d have said it in Greek, not Latin. Perhaps something like ἅρπαζε τὴν ἡμέραν.
